Project Overview:
Change Alliance has initiated the Climate Finance Partnership Initiative (CFPI) to connect grassroots organizations, farmer collectives, and climate-resilient livelihood interventions with emerging carbon markets and climate finance opportunities. The initiative focuses on identifying, aggregating and developing high-potential climate interventions and facilitating access to technical expertise, carbon project developers, registries, investors and buyers.
Project Objectives:
- Identify and assess climate-resilient livelihood interventions with carbon and climate finance potential.
- Build the carbon readiness of grassroots organizations, farmer groups and community institutions.
- Develop and aggregate viable climate and carbon projects for market participation.
- Facilitate linkages with carbon developers, climate finance institutions, investors and corporate buyers.
We designed the CFPI model around a structured project development pathway:
- Partner Mapping & Climate Opportunity Identification
- Carbon Readiness & Feasibility Assessment
- Pilot Development & Demonstration
- Carbon Project Design & Registration Preparation
- Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV)
- Carbon Credit Issuance & Market Linkages
Key Deliverables:
- Partner opportunity mapping and carbon readiness assessments
- Feasibility studies and carbon potential assessments
- Pilot climate and carbon projects across high-potential interventions
- Project documentation, methodology selection and MRV frameworks
- Technical partnerships with carbon developers, MRV agencies and registries
- Investor and corporate buyer engagement and market linkages
Projected Outcome:
The initiative is expected to establish a scalable platform for connecting grassroots climate interventions with carbon markets and climate finance, enabling communities and partner organizations to access new revenue streams while supporting climate mitigation, adaptation and sustainable livelihoods.
